Developed by the Housing Authority of the County of San Joaquin (HACSJ) and Central California Housing Corporation (CCHC), this large multi-family redevelopment project consists of 17 buildings and 215 apartments. Phase Two Redevelopment: Following a $24 million Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) award in March 2017, the second phase of redevelopment quickly commenced. An additional LIHTC award of $25 million in July 2018 played a crucial role in the project's financial structure. Other sources of funding included the US Department of Housing and Urban Developments Public Housing subsidy, the City of Stockton's Affordable Housing Impact Fee Reduction Program, and the City of Stockton's HOME funding. These contributions facilitated the construction of 100 modern, energy-efficient units, ranging from one to four bedrooms and equipped with solar energy. Affordable Rent and Eligibility: Sierra Vista offers apartment properties under the Section 42, LIHTC program. The rents are determined based on the Area Medium Income (AMI) and tenant-based utility allowances. At least 20% of the apartments are reserved for low-income tenants, providing them with below-market rents. It is important to note that this is not a subsidized housing program, and residents are responsible for paying their full monthly rent. Rental amounts are determined by pre-set income limits in the area, rather than individual household income. To be eligible, the total household gross income must be below the pre-set income limit for the area. Pet Policy: Sierra Vista welcomes cats and dogs, allowing residents to have their beloved pets with them. It is recommended to add your name to multiple waiting lists and be patient, as it may take some time to receive a call regarding an available unit.
